Bezos fires up Prometheus
Amazon’s billionaire founder Jeff Bezos is drawing on his fortune to set up an artificial intelligence startup called Project Prometheus. The early-stage venture has raised $6.2 billion in funding, according to The New York Times, with Bezos set to become co-chief executive alongside Vik Bajaj. Bajaj worked with Google’s co-founder Sergey Brin at Google X, the search giant’s moonshot factory. This would be Bezos’s first chief executive role since he stepped down as the boss of Amazon in 2021. Project Prometheus will focus on AI that can support engineering and manufacturing.
